HEAVY METAL SELF HELP

Heavy Metal Self Help is an activity book and resource for Nova Scotians from alternative rock music subcultures who wish to practice self care, discover or develop healthy leisure activities, and connect to communities that can offer support. This book is inspired by the rise in popularity of casual self-care activities such as adult coloring books, the Dalhousie University-developed leisure education program Steps To Connect, and Matt’s experiences as a recreation therapist, mental health volunteer, and musician. It was written by Matt Steele and Teri Boates, Illustrated by Teri Boates, and designed and laid out by Devin Shael Fox.

Heavy Metal Self Help is available for free in both paperback form (HRM only) and as a PDF.
